In this post I will give you guys a little glimpse into the future as I promised. In last weeks post I asked you all, ‘What do you guys want out of this experience? If you are able to define, clearly, what you want then live in the assumption of already having it. Train from that place. It makes a world of a difference.’ I program from the assumption of your future success in this sport. In order to do this I must know a thing or two about you. I must look from where I know you will be (your future self) and program from that place. So far I haven’t missed my mark. Many of you are proving, and, have proven, my little theory right and don’t even know it. Thank you! There’s so much care and thought put into what I do. There are so many programs out there, many of you have tried them. But what makes what we do different here is the aforementioned statement. It takes a year or two, not a few months, to build a solid athlete. Not every programmer or coach knows this. Some rest on the notion that because you look good and move well, you are good. That doesn’t mean s*@t to me! Many will beat you up and spit you out and ask you to do the same thing over and over again until you break. By then it’s too late. Or at best you can have some well-known coach program for you remotely from their keyboard. Good luck with that. This is my advantage. I know where you come from and where you are going, not because you are predictable, not because I’m a prophet, simply because I live in the assumption of your further success in this sport. I’m talking about each and every single one of you. The top level athletes in our gym are no different from anyone else. I’ve been to so many boxes and the elite programming is catered to the elite athlete and not the “regular folk” who make up the majority of the gym. Bump that!!! Everyone at CFG is elite. I believe in your abilities so much that I can imagine you right where I need you to be even though you don’t see it in yourself. I’ll leave you guys on this last note: The grass isn’t always greener on the other side. The level of programming at CFG will continue to build the everyday elite athlete. This is as solid of a program you will find. Many of you have already proven my assumption. Here’s a glimpse into the future. Coach Joel Feb 20th – 25th —-> Open WOD#1. Crush it!!
